Spray Applied Open Cell Insulation

Interior side spray applied polyurethane open cell foam has the following properties:

  • Liquid spray applied expanding foam ensures continuous and seamless monolithic air barrier.
  • R-value of R3 – R4 per inch means higher value than traditional insulation and does not lose performance due to humidity or air movement like fibrous insulations.
  • Soft, low-density foam which significantly improves sound attenuation/deadening.
  • Expands to seal air off from cracks, crevices, creases which helps prevent intrusion of hot air, salt air, humidity, bug/pest infiltration and outdoor pollutants for optimum indoor air quality.
  • Fully adhered which will never sink, settle or sag, lasting 50+ years or the lifetime of the structure.

Spray Applied Closed Cell Insulation

Interior side spray applied polyurethane closed cell foam has the following properties:

  • R-value of R6 – R7 per inch means more heat flow resistance with less thickness than open cell.
  • 99% waterproof to act as a secondary water mitigation system.
  • Class 2 vapor retardant which prevents vapor drive through construction materials that creates surface condensation in low temperature applications.
  • Rigid, medium-density foam which adds structural and/or racking strength to assemblies.
  • Liquid spray applied ensures Continuous and seamless monolithic air Barrier.
  • The top insulation choice as well as added hurricane defense for wooden or metal roof/wall/floor assemblies in Cayman.

Drill and Fill Injection Open Cell Insulation

Interior side injection/pour applied polyurethane open cell foam has the following properties:

  • Injection applied to closed cavities by drilling small holes into cavities and filling without the removal of wall/ceiling sheathing such as sheetrock/wood/cement board/yellow board/green board.
  • Drill and fill means minimal invasion/interruption, which saves time and costs on demolition of walls/vaulted ceilings required for spray applied foams and subsequently the restoration of wall/ceilings after spray applied applications.
  • Special formulation expands then slightly collapses to prevent cracking and/or blow out of wall/ceiling system.
  • Infrared thermal imaging used to ensure consistent cavity fills to avoid empty pockets and voids.
  • Liquid spray applied expanding foam ensures continuous and seamless monolithic air barrier.
  • R-value of R3 – R4 per inch.

Pour In Place Marine Closed Cell Insulation

Interior side injection/pour applied polyurethane closed cell foam has the following properties:

  • Slow reaction, low heat liquid pour applied foam to closed or open boat cavities.
  • Creates buoyancy and floatation to help weight distribution.
  • Strong tensile and compressive strength, fully adhered to structure resisting water absorption to prevent water intrusion to cavities in the event of structural damage which can lead to sinking.
  • 99% waterproof to act as a secondary water mitigation system.
  • Rigid, medium-density foam which adds structural and/or racking strength to assemblies.
  • Liquid spray applied ensures continuous and seamless monolithic air barrier.

Intumescent Fire Retardant Coating

Applied to the surface of spray foams, intumescent coating has the following properties:

  • Single component, water based intumescent coating tested to meet Building Code requirements for the fire protection of for Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF).
  • Satisfies the International Building Code (IBC) Section 2603.4, International Residential Code (IRC) Section 316.4, and many other National and International building codes.

Insulation Removal

Existing insulation removal of traditional insulations such as fiberglass batts, radiant barrier, blown in insulation and more. Here are some of the main reasons why removal of existing insulation is important:

  • Allows for installation of spray foam insulation for various applications.
  • Attic floor fiberglass insulation with a spray foam roof deck is considered a double thermal boundary and can cause upwards travelling moisture from cooking/showering/breathing/cleaning to become trapped within attic space. Removing insulation from attic floor allows for slight thermal exchange to semi condition attic space.
  • Reducing attic humidity will mitigate chances of dew point condensation on A/C equipment, ductwork, light fixtures and other attic bypasses that can cause corrosion, saturation, deterioration and/or mold growth.
  • Fibers may absorb spraying odors and may linger after install.
  • Fiberglass batt insulation also provides hiding spots for pest and insects, making pest removal and prevention difficult and/or repetitive.
  • Pest/insect droppings’ smells will no longer be vented out after spray foam air seal installed and may transfer smell into living space below.
  • Airborne fiberglass is a skin and respiratory irritant – removal will improve indoor air quality.
  • Depending on condition of attic floor after fiberglass batt removal, vacuuming the attic floor will remove any loose insulation, dirt, debris, insect droppings etc.

Prep Work

Existing Prepare work area before spray foam installation and clean up after completion:

  • Mask and protect with plastic and tape for walls/floors/windows/belongings to prevent overspray damage and allow for quicker and easier clean up.
  • Install 30 lb felt paper vertical eave blocking between exterior wall top plate to roof deck immediately above to create backing substrate knee wall at wall/roof connection and prevent foam extrusion through construction gaps and/or eave vents.
  • Surface preparation: spray foam requires clean, dry substrate for proper adhesion and may require removal of moisture, dirt, grease, oils etc.
  • Exhaust venting – supply and install venting between exhaust fan to eave space to allow exhaust to exit building, to prevent moisture/odors/heat from building up in attic space. Air seal all connections.

Freezers & Cold Storage

Refrigeration equipment has to work vigorously to maintain freezing temperatures in our tropical climate.Longer operation times and challenging ambient conditions can be expensive to run and can cause accelerated wear and tear, leading to more frequent repair/replacement. Freezer panels can also start to leak air at seams, causing ice to build up, expand and push apart panels further. This leads to all kind of moisture issues that can ruin equipment and surrounding construction materials. Call for an assessment today!

Ceiling/Attic Floor

Once we spray foam air seal and insulate a roof deck underside and create an encapsulated attic, double thermal boundaries (meaning a spray foam roof deck plus fiberglass on the attic floor) can cause upwardly traveling moisture from cooking/showering/breathing to become trapped within the attic space. Removing insulation from the attic floor allows for slight thermal exchange to semi condition the attic space. Reducing attic humidity will mitigate the chances of dew point condensation on A/C equipment, ductwork, light fixtures, and other attic bypasses that can cause corrosion, saturation, deterioration, and/or mold growth. Services & Applications FAQs

Spray applied closed cell insulation is a type of insulation that is sprayed onto surfaces as a liquid foam. As it dries, it expands and hardens into a dense, closed-cell foam that provides excellent insulation and vapor barrier properties. This type of insulation is ideal for areas with limited space, such as walls, ceilings, and roofs.

Spray applied open cell insulation is a type of insulation that is also sprayed onto surfaces as a liquid foam, but it expands and hardens into a softer, open-cell foam. This type of insulation is ideal for areas where sound attenuation is important, such as recording studios, as well as for areas that require greater flexibility, such as attics and crawl spaces.

Drill and fill injection open cell insulation is a type of insulation that is installed by drilling small holes into existing walls or ceilings and injecting open cell foam insulation into the cavities. This is a cost-effective way to insulate existing structures without having to remove drywall or other materials.

Pour in place marine closed cell insulation is a type of insulation that is designed specifically for use in boats and other marine applications. It is poured into place as a liquid foam and expands and hardens into a closed-cell foam that provides excellent insulation and flotation properties.

Insulation removal is the process of removing old or damaged insulation from a building or structure.
